Ask the Sheep Guy: Feeder recommendations

QUESTION: What feeders do you recommend?

ANSWER:

We’ve been in the sheep business since 1964 and have tried everything.  Today, from the standpoint of functionality (i.e., what works) and economy (i.e., dollars and cents), we recommend three feeders that we have manufactured by an Amish builder in Middlefield, Ohio.

First, there’s the 5-sided, wooden, combination feeder that feeds hay and grain to up to 10 head.  It sells for $100.00, fully assembled.

Second, there’s the wooden combination feeder that hangs on a gate and can feed 2-3 head.  It sells for $75.00, fully assembled.

Third, there’s the wooden creep feeder that handles 30-50 head of lambs.  It sells for $105.00, fully assembled.

We use, recommend and now offer for sale these three feeders because they’ve worked for us and will work for you too.
